This digital portfolio is a selection of both course and private work, the chronology of which ranges from early ideas sketches, through development pages to final outcomes. This body of work has primarily originated from an illustrative background.
My passion has always been creating, whether that be images in art, or prose when I write. Over the past year, I have learned to combine those aspects to more fully recognize my intentions and verbalize what it is I want to say. I feel my work has matured over this past year, but, perhaps paradoxically, my influences and opinions have been the predominant force of creation, whether they be musical, political, theological or humanist. I've always been interested in other subjects, which I feel, help to deepen your work and give it meaning.
I'm excited for a degree course, because I expect it would offer me with a lot of opportunities I would otherwise have not been able to exploit, experience in dealing with briefs, expanding my interests and honing my skills. I feel I have a lot to offer a degree course in Graphics as I am receptive and confident, and hard-working. In the field of Graphic Design specifically, I feel that an active interest in current affairs, a somewhat satirical, cynical perspective on life and wit help truly realize a piece's potential. I hope that over the next few years, experience and meeting new people, along with working with tutors can help me further my ambitions. As a person with a lot to say, I think Graphic Design is an outlet which allows that freedom, therefore I think a Graphic Design degree would be perfectly suited for me.
